What VDA means in EDI

VDA refers to a family of standards and recommendations created for the German automotive industry. Its purpose is to make data exchange more consistent between OEMs, Tier suppliers and logistics partners. In practice, VDA is closely associated with organizations such as Volkswagen Group, Audi, Bosch, Continental and Daimler.

The standard is especially relevant in supply chains where timing, sequencing and delivery accuracy matter. That makes it common in call-off, shipping and invoicing processes that support tightly controlled automotive production environments.
